Introduction to Sculling (ITS) is a 3-session program designed to introduce current WRRA members to the pleasures of rowing in small boats. Participants will learn boat and oar handling techniques in a stable ?trainer? wherry (1x), a coxed quad (4x+), and doubles (2x).
Led by the WRRA coaching staff, participants in ITS will meet in 3 small group sessions on consecutive weekends for a 90-minute practice which includes indoor and on-water rowing for fitness, recreation and preparation for competition (if desired) in sculling boats. Coaching is provided for both on and off the water, and each participant is monitored on the water by a coach in a motorized boat.

Participants who would like to continue to scull after the ITS program and work towards their independent sculling certification must also complete the WRRA Learn-to-Scull (LTS) program, an intensive 6 sessions of ?one on one? instruction with an experienced WRRA Sculling Coach.

If a participant would like to continue with the LTS program, $60 of their ITS program fee will be applied to the LTS program cost.
