Naming Rights Contribution

The Western Reserve Rowing Association (WRRA) runs a variety of programs serving more than 500 adult rowers. Member dues and fees alone are not sufficient to cover the cost of the programs. WRRA relies on volunteers and contributors, both at the individual and corporate level. One option for contributing to WRRA is through the naming of a boat or associated equipment. WRRA provides an opportunity to name new boats as they are added to the fleet, and to sponsor individual oars or seats in new and existing boats.

WRRA is qualified as a not-for-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Naming Rights Contributions are tax deductible. WRRA can provide a Letter of Donation.

The remunerations associated with each boat, seat, or oar are as follows:

  • Exposure on the Cuyahoga River, typically 15 - 20 hours per week.
  • WRRA will make christening ceremonies available.
  • Your name on the equipment above for as long as it stays in our Club, typically 8-10 years.
  • If the boat leaves our fleet, you may apply to the Board to roll over the existing name.
  • Your name or company name will be listed on the WRRA website as a generous contributor.
  • As we retire oars, those who sponsored an oar will have the opportunity to take it home.

Many of our boats are taken to compete on the national stage including Head of the Charles, Head of the Hooch, and USRA Masters Nationals in addition to regional and local regattas.
